Here are four excellent ideas for a home-based business.

1. Selling an information product. This is one of the methods I use and have done very well with. Once you find a subject you know a lot about you can create an information book or CD and sell it online. 

2. Using affiliate programs to reselling someone else's products. This is how I got started and I still do resell other company products and make excellent money. 

3. Selling a unique product that you cannot find in any store. I have a customer who sells sandblasted personalized signs for golfers and does extremely well. You cannot find his product in any store and there are millions of avid golfers out there, so he has a nice marketplace. 

4. Offer a unique service. A few years ago, internet web design was real hot. You can still make a home-based business offering that service, however, everyone and his brother is doing web design, so it is highly competitive. Find out what people are using or needing and create a unique service for it.
